Is Webull (BULL) stock Halal?
September 2026 AAOIFI screening result for Webull Corp. (BULL): non-permissible income, fail. Interest-bearing investments, fail. Interest-bearing debt, fail. Preference shares, pass. Webull Corp. is not currently Shariah compliant. Re-screened monthly against AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 21.
Webull is a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), designed primarily to facilitate capital investment opportunities by merging with or acquiring existing businesses. The company's fundamental purpose is to provide a streamlined path for private companies to access public markets, thus expediting the conventional IPO process. SK Growth Opportunities Corporation leverages its fundraising potential and managerial expertise to identify and consummate mergers or acquisitions aimed at generating value for stakeholders. Before any of that matters to a Muslim investor, one question comes first: is Webull stock Halal?
Is Webull Shariah compliant?
The Shariah case on a technology company like Webull is rarely about the product. What AAOIFI Shariah Standard No. 21 examines is the money around the product: cash parked in instruments that earn Riba, borrowing measured against a market capitalisation that moves daily, and any incidental income from sources Islam prohibits, which must stay below 5% of revenue.
Does Webull pass the business activity test?
The activity screen is only part of the picture this month: Webull currently fails the non-permissible income, interest-bearing investments and interest-bearing debt screens, so the overall verdict is not compliant regardless of the business itself. The watch item for technology names is incidental: cash returns and platform content can carry impermissible elements, which AAOIFI tolerates only below the thresholds.
Is Webull's income Halal?
No. Webull's income from impermissible sources currently exceeds AAOIFI's 5% revenue ceiling, which makes the stock non-compliant on this screen regardless of the others. The screen is reassessed monthly, so the status can change when new financial statements arrive.
Does Webull meet AAOIFI's debt and investment ratio requirements?
No. Both ratios currently breach the 30% caps: interest bearing investments and interest bearing debt each exceed the limit AAOIFI permits for a Halal investment. The ratios move with the share price as well as the balance sheet, and our Shariah Supervisory Board has BULL re-screened every month.
